It's been too long

We got a chance to do a lot of fun things this summer and one of them was to go to some water slide parks. This Water park was in Sacramento and I use to go to it when I was a little kid so I wanted to go back and see if it was still as big as I remembered it.

Here is a picture of the kids area of the park with the Pirate ship. Totally cool, Merrick loved it.

I've been trying to take more family pictures of the three of us so here's one at the water park.

We finished off the day with my dad showing Merrick how to eat cookies and milk. If you can see, Merrick's interpretation of dunking his cookie is placing his whole fist in the milk, my dad kept telling him okay, that's enough, okay, it was pretty darn cute.

Old Friends and Carpinteria

We went back "home" in June for Dustin's Graduation and got a chance to see some old friends.

A Day at the Zoo

We have the tiniest little zoo in our new town but we really like it because they have a petting zoo that Merrick can actually do. He thinks it's hilarious to feed the animals.

I get a kick out of going every time.

Do you know your way to uh... Merced

Okay, so first things first, here is our new pet or should I say pets. We've been really talking about getting Merrick some kind of pet but we weren't sure how much we could handle so a few weeks ago we decided to get Merrick a Beta Fighting Fish, they are soo cool by the way. After a few days we noticed how lonely he was so we went back and got him a wife which I like to call Fluffy because I think it's hilarious and because she's no where near fluffy but Merrick calls her Baa and the boy fish Waa which we nicknamed Wade (get it) hahaha okay so anyways can you guess what happened with this arranged marriage? oh yeah that's right a ton of little baby beta fighting fishes.

Pop, Merrick and Uncle Bud. If you look really close or actually I don't know if you can even tell in this picture but they all have the same Hewitt ears it cracks me up.

Merrick never smiles for pictures but, if for some reason he does this is all you can get out of him, isn't it hilarious.

This is a glimpse of what our living room looks like. This picture doesn't do it much justice but I think that our place is super cute. Here are my folks and bubby hanging out on a Saturday afternoon.

Home Sweet Home

Hello everyone, well we are finally settled into our new apartment. Here are a few pictures of our apartment complex, as soon as I find my digital camera I will upload some pictures of our actual apartment. We are really liking our new town. There's enough for us to do and I think we'll stay pretty busy for the 2-3 years that we'll be here. Beautiful homes are selling for high 200's which has made us think about staying here for good. Our apartment complex is really nice. It was built about 3 years ago and it seems to have a little bit of everything. The pool is right next door to our apartment so we've been going there every other day to give Merrick some play time. We went to our ward for the first time on Sunday and we met lots of people. Everyone seems really nice and the Relief Society has a calendar full of enrichment activities for the month and even a girl's night out, I'm excited to get into the swing of things in our new ward. We took a road trip to San Francisco last weekend and it only took us 2.5 hours. I got my Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters fix for the month and got some cool ideas for decorating our pad. Gorgeous Cheryl (Loveless) Bishop came to visit me last weekend and brought her super cute daughter, Ashby.
